Hey guys, my name is Emma Keene. I am a Certified Personal Trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) with additional certifications in TRX Suspension Training and InBody (body composition analysis). I graduated from Washington State University - GO COUGS with my degree in Marketing. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, backpacking, watching movies, and playing with our three fur babies.

Turning Point

For me, my "turning point" came later in life. I became an avid hiker a few years ago and I remember my dad saying to me "let's hike Mt. St. Helen's" of course, I said yes not fully understanding what it takes to conquer a mountain. Sure, I have hiked some pretty gnarly trails in the past so I thought this hike would be easy because I had deemed myself "fit" or "athletic enough". Long story short, I did not make it to the summit that day. I was working out, I was what most would call "fit" and "in shape" so why couldn't I finish the hike? As I reflected on that moment, I realized that my training had no purpose or direction. I didn't know or understand my "why". From that moment on, I started to build my training program around the goals I wanted to achieve. Training for functionality. How can my training program enhance my quality of life this is the approach I have taken not only in my training but for my clients.

Motivation & Passion

I became a personal trainer to empower and motivate individuals to not only lead an active lifestyle but to reach for their full potential. We tend to doubt what we are capable of. "I can't do this, I can't do that". Everyone does it, but it's my job to help people break down those barriers and achieve things they never thought were possible. Everyone's full potential can look so different, we all have our own starting point and goals. I have clients who want to lead an active lifestyle so they can meet their future grandchildren, some want to lose weight and feel more confident, some want to regain mobility and strength after an injury, and some want an outlet to work on their mental health. The list goes on. My clients motivate me to be a better person, a better coach, and to lead by example.
