Nurse Assistant Certified for over 12 years.
Worked in Radiation Oncology for 9 years.
I have always been competitive and have enjoyed playing many sports as a kid such as basketball, volleyball, softball, and tennis. After graduating high school, I went into the workforce and always worked hard at being a team player and role model to others. Because of this, in any job I have had, I would be the main person who trained others. All of this has helped me become who I am today.
In 2012, I weighed the heaviest I have ever been and was almost 300 lbs. That is when I gave up and just stopped weighing myself. There were a lot of self-doubts, depression, denial, and defeat within me. After that moment, there were several things occurring in my life (including getting a job in Radiation Oncology) that finally gave me the motivation to not only find that competitive personality I once had but to finally become competitive with myself. I started with home workouts and meal prep since I had a fear of what others would think when they saw me working out. When I started to lose weight and my confidence increased, I got a gym membership and have not stopped enjoying it since. I’ve been to many different types of gyms with different styles of training. In 2018-2019 I started heavy lifting and was hitting max PRs with deadlifts, back squats, and chest presses! For a few years after that, I trained with more of a cardio-based gym and now my training includes more balance with focusing on both strength and endurance! I now compete in Spartan obstacle races every year which is my favorite hobby I’ve ever had. I have also done 5ks, 10ks, a half-marathon, a sprint triathlon, and hiked the Grand Tetons.
I am extremely passionate about coaching because I truly do know how it feels to be in each stage of health and fitness. I understand the struggles and the successes and know that everyone will respond differently to both. I would Love to see everyone be happy with their own journey and success and hope to be part of it.
